Machete Don't Text!

writing this blog 45 minutes ago and only got the first sentence done. Side tracked with work items. I had a couple of things I wanted to write about this evening and it is almost too late. So let me provide the cliff notes.
I am a big fan of Danny Trejo (pictured on the right). You can check out his story and background but here is a man that went from bad to being lucky and then making it work for him. He has appeared in numerous movies and usually plays a bad guy (based on his looks), but also in movies like the Spy Kids series. If you like Robert Rodriguez movies, then chances are you have seen Danny as he plays a part in numerous Rodriguez films.
I really like the Machete series of movies along with Grind House and Planet Terror. They are all filmed like they were made in the 1970’s and the action and gore is so over the top that it is comical. Check out a couple of the trailers and you will see what I mean.

OMG, funny shit! Not only are these so over the top, it is great that they get so many famous actors to play roles in each of the movies.

Laughing my ass off.
We had received about 4 inches of snow in an hour and the
roads were slick. Any car coming down
the hill
was sliding as it was mostly solid ice. Several of them ended up doing 360's and you could see the terror in there eyes. I tried to get some video but my damn phone wouldn't cooperate. I would guess 20 cars came down the hill and the results were the same for each of them.
I finally made it home at just a little after 7 pm. Took me a little longer than usual but I was walking through a good six inches of snow.

As said by Frank Drebin
- It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
- Like a blind man at an orgy, I was going to have to feel my way through.
- Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes.
- Oh, that would be me. I've been swimming in raw sewage. I love it!
- Nice beaver!
- We're sorry to bother you at such a time like this, Mrs. Twice. We would have come earlier, but your husband wasn't dead then.
- It's true what they say: Cops and women don't mix. It's like eating a spoonful of Drano; sure, it'll clean you out, but it'll leave you hollow inside.
- Well, when I see five weirdos, dressed in togas, stabbing a man in the middle of the park in full view of a hundred people, I shoot the bastards, that's *my* policy!

Tucker & Dale
Woke up at 7:30 AM and decided that was too early. Went back to sleep and woke up again at 10:30
AM. I must have been tired, which I was
because I stayed up until 2:30 AM watching the movie Tucker & Dale vs
Evil. I thought it was pretty funny.
Anyway after getting out of bed, I got dressed and we went
out on little 2/mile walk. It was nice
out today, guessing in the 40’s when we left the house. When we got back I tried a recipe from Birds
& Blooms magazine to make up a new batch of Bird food.
The recipe made cupcakes but I just made two cakes. The cakes I made were large enough that they
will fit in a feeder I have. Here is
the recipe if you are interested. I will
keep you posted on how it goes and if any birds visit and eat it.
Melt 1 cup shortening and 2 cups chunky peanut butter over
low heat, then mix in 5 cups cornmeal. Fill
cake pans and top off with your choice of nuts, birdseed or dried berries. Cool in the fridge or freezer. I used black sunflower seeds to top mine off.
Finished working on the stained glass window. We got it hung this evening and it looks
great. The solution was easier than what
I thought it would be. I found a three
ft extension cord so using it that solved my spacing issue.

Always something to laugh about
Not much to report on today.
We went out and did a quick 2 miles this morning. I then headed over to the shop to play around
with some new items I received for Christmas. I stopped in, turned the heater on and
then drove over to Starbucks's for a coffee. When I returned about 10 minutes later it had
heated just enough to be bearable.
First thing I did was get the battery charger going on the
old Model A. Santa brought me a new rotor,
distributor cap, wires and coil. Took about 30 minutes to get the new parts on.
I pulled the starter cover and added a couple of new felt washers. I tried to start it but the battery was so
weak that I could only get one turn. I
decided to leave the charger on over night.
Will get some gas tomorrow and see if I can get it running. I would like to have it ready for spring and
summer and drive it around.
Back at the house I did a little repair on the basement door. Guessing
the cold weather had caused it to swell so I sanded down the door edge and it
closes now and doesn't rub the door frame when closing.
Below is my route log for the last two days. It's snowing out now, doubt that it will amount to much. Going to try to get out again tomorrow.

Who's ready for snow?
I heard rumor that we may get some snow tonight/tomorrow. I doubt it will happen but we can only hope. It is supposed to be cold and windy tomorrow so that may hamper my idea of walking to work. I would take the bike, but would hate to end up like this poor bastard.

Made the walk to work this morning, so I was able to log in 3.2/miles. Nothing exciting to report, I did see several rabbits but no coyotes.
Came across this picture and found it to be pretty funny, clearly the sky writer was trying to spell Shilo.

Mr. Pietro Ferrero
No mile(s) to report today, even with having the best of intentions. Shame on me! It has just been crazy busy at work or that is just another excuse. Will make it happen tomorrow.
I think the skunk has moved on. No sign of any digging the last couple of days. Was excited about the chance to play "Billy the Exterminator", I guess I still could.
Mr. Pietro Ferrero would be so proud of what his "pasta gianduja" has become. You can tell she is a fan. I usually eat it with an apple but this is another way to go about it.

Nothing New
I checked the skunk situation and no new movement. The trap remains empty and no sign of any new digging. Guessing that either the porch light or the repeated hosing has gotten it to move on. Closed the trap, if I caught something tonight, I wouldn't have time to deal with it tomorrow. Busy week ahead, with a couple trips to Denver planned.
We went out and walked through BCP and did a two mile loop. Felt better this morning so it was nice to get out and work up a sweat. The tree's have really turned around here, lot of yellow's and golden browns. We went to the movie this afternoon and saw Looper. Interesting story, good action, slow in some spots. I would rate it a 4 out of 5. Bruce Willis always does a good job....

Fringillidae
I found a dead finch on the
back porch this evening. From the initial investigation it doesn’t appear that
fowl J play was involved.
The deceased was found at 19:45/hrs, lying on its left side on a concrete
patio, its dimensions was 9.5 cm
(3.8 in) and 8.4 g (0.3 oz), sex is unknown. The deceased appeared to have been dead for
at least two hours. There were no signs
of any struggle and forensics RSID testing detected no fluids in the surrounding
area of where the deceased was found.
