Closing out January

Wow, hard to believe that the month is over with already.  So let's see I managed to log 65.5/miles in for this month.  Not bad but I could have done more.  I feel like I am getting back into the groove.  Now I have a target and will see if I can do better in February.

I was cleaning up some pictures from my phone.  Felt that I should include them in my blog so that I will have them for future printings.  Below is a picture of Clark and Pebbles hanging out.

My Cousins sent me a holiday greeting last night.  I am guessing that alcohol was involved since the text came in around 1:30 in the morning.  They are showing off the scratch trophy from the Sharky Clark Memorial golf tourney.  One is pointing at the other who won the trophy this year.

Little Piggy

Being that it is a new year I have been trying to be consistent in my working out.   In the last 10 days I have logged 39.6 miles in on the treadmill.   I haven’t missed a day yet, with it being cold I have opted to work out indoors.   Most of it has been on the treadmill at home, but also the gym when it works out the Clark can go with me.

I can’t say that I have lost any weight yet, but I do feel a little better and seem to have a little more energy.   I seem to sweat a lot more on the treadmill than I do when I walk back and forth to work.  Today I started the couch to 5K to see if I can build up my endurance for running.    If I can get some running going it should also help me knock a few of these pounds off.

Not sure if working out will help me live any longer.  Today heard that Don Henley from the Eagles passed away.   I would have figured Joe Walsh would have passed before Don.  Go figure, just goes to show that smoking, drinking, etc. may not be a bad thing after all.   Yes that is sarcasm.

Egg McMuffin

Dinner was awesome this evening.  Candy made us Egg Muffins. Nothing like the real deal.  Freshly cooked bacon, egg over medium placed on a toasted English muffin add a slice of cheese and OMG. Quick and easy and great tasting.  Poor yourself a glass of chocolate milk and oh man.   Try it and then get back to me.

I have to say I was really taken by the passing of David Bowie.  I didn't even know about it until the day after and even then the person that told me, I told them they were full of shit.

I googled and sure as shit he had passed away with cancer.  He did a great job keeping it quite, just like he did with his personal life.

Lisa France, Senior Producer, CNN Digital did a great story named A Glamours Love Story about David and his wife Iman.

I would say for me, I really got into his music with release of Let's Dance in 1982.  Several of the songs from this album were big in the club scene back then.  Great dance tunes to shake your ass to on the dance floor.

One of the other things I really like about him was he didn't care if you thought he was a freak.  When you see him playing Ziggy Stardust in 1972.  Ziggy who is David's alter ego and a bisexual alien rock superstar.  It is a great album with some great tunes and the whole concept was perfect to really freak out and piss off your parents.

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars has consistently been considered one of the greatest albums of all time, with Rolling Stone magazine ranking it the 35 greatest ever.

R.I.P David, you are missed by your family, your friends and your fans.

Colorado

What is up my friends.  I am so far behind on so many things around the house and projects I am working on.  We are crazy busy at work, which is a good thing but it hasn't left me much time for my projects.

I have been trying to work out more.  Been keeping somewhat consistent with my routine.  It has been so cold I have just been doing the treadmill.

We did get out today up on Gold Camp.  We have had snow the last couple of days so the trees were covered.  It is beautiful.

OK, got to run.

Welcome 2016

Greetings all and welcome to a New Year!  I hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.    I was lucky to have some time off between the holidays.    I can’t really say that I got a whole lot accomplished.

We had a great Christmas.  We celebrated Christmas Eve with the boys here at home.  Candy cooked up some great food for the evening and we had a great time.  On Christmas day she cooked up another great meal.  We had prime rib roast and all the fixings.

For the last week we have been working on puzzles.   We got three completed.  Each was 500 pieces or more and once again proved that I need to get some glasses.   When the boys would stop by they would each add a few pieces to whatever puzzle we were working at the time.

On New Year’s Eve we had a little party at the house.  It was just me and Candy.  Clark hung out with for a while and two of his friends were here for a while.   We ordered up some Sushi for the evening celebration.  The boys ate it up.

For the last week it has been pretty cold around here.   I did spend a little time over at the shop, but with only have my kerosene heater it gets a little stinky and I just can’t hang out that long.  I am sure the smell it not good for me.  Heat for the shop is on the list. There are a lot of things on my lists, but they all require time and money which I am short of.  But someday I will get to them.

For Christmas I got a couple of coloring books.   These are very detailed coloring books that require a lot of time and patience.   I have gotten a couple of pictures completed.  Here is a little secret for you.   I needed some new colored pencils or pens so we went over to Michael's one day.   I found a really nice Sharpie set that normally sells for about 60 dollars.   Go online and find a coupon.  In most cases Michael's and Hobby Lobby have them available and usually you can get 50% off one item.

That’s all I know.  Would like to see it warm up around here so I can get back on the trails.  We made it out a couple of times but I spent more time on the treadmill.
