Aemon

Love my little buddy.  Here are a few new pics that the kids sent us.  I hope I get to go visit him again soon.

Stearman

Completing the series of balsa airplanes, here are some pics of my Stearman that I completed.   It came out very nice.

Zero

Sticking with the theme of airplanes, here are a few pics of a Japanese Zero that I completed.

Hanging in there

I hope that you are all safe out there.  Some crazy times we are living in.   I am not going to go down this path and talk about COVID-19.  I am no expert and if you turn on your TV, you will see we have plenty.   I will say that my thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.

As you can guess, work has been crazy and a little scary as you never know what the next day may bring.

As I have written before my latest hobby has been building balsa wood airplanes and have had a great time doing it.   I have taken over the dining room table as it has plenty of space for me to spread out.  These are some pics of a P51 Mustang that I built.   I didn't cover this one and just left it as the frame.  I have it hanging in my office at work.

Aemon Pictures

Our trip to Florida

Candy, Clark and I flew down to Orlando on Feb. 13th.   We went down to spend the weekend with the kids.   We had a great time and really enjoyed being with them and soaking up some warmer weather.  We got to the house about midnight and got to check out their new home.

The weekend is a blur.  The kids went out for valentines and Candy I got to watch Aemon.   He was such a good boy, didn't cry at all.  We had lunch on Saturday in Epcot.   We did a little work around the house to baby proof it from big boy.  The traffic is terrible so we didn't' stray too far from home.   This is a photo dump of our trip.  Enjoy!

Modeling

I may have mentioned that I picked up some balsa wood models.  This Hawker Hurricane is my first attempt at putting one together.   It was a fun project and I learned a few things along the way.  There are several places I could have done a better job.  My covering needs some work.  I am currently building a P 51 Mustang and have been able to apply what I learned.

Miles

It has been a good week for me.  I managed to get off my ass and walk just about every day this week.   From Monday to today, I covered 45.03 miles.  It's not a record-breaker for me, but it is the most I have walked in a week in many months.   Hopefully, I can keep after it.

Other than that I have been occupied with work.   I did start a new project.  I am building a balsa wood aircraft model.  We will see how this goes.  Never done one before so it should be fun.  I haven't gotten very far, so there is not much to show yet.

Oh, I did finish a project that was a lot of fun.   I painted a silhouette of Aemon.  I think it came out great and will be looking to do more.

They Call me Aemon

Go LEO

I came across Leo one evening when searching for new music.   This guy is pretty amazing and I wish I could play a single instrument and he plays them all and sings too.   Go LEO!  I love his contacts as well.

Second Chance

Cufflinks

Well, I think I finally have my process worked out for making cufflinks.  I made about 40 different pairs this weekend.   This has been trial and error over the last six months, but I finally found the parts I needed and a couple of vendors to order what I need.

I got my assembly all worked out so I can make them quickly.  It cost me $1.98 per pair to make these cufflinks and they look amazing.
I am not going to explain what I do to make them or the parts I order.  These are for me and at some point maybe I will see if I can sell some.

Shinedown - Through the Ghost

Trying to get back in the groove of blogging and thought I would start off with music I am listing too.  This is one of my faves and wanted to share.

Speak of the devil
Look who just walked into the room
The guilted and faded
Notion of someone I once knew.
All the perfect moments are wrong

All the precious pieces are gone
Everything that mattered is just
A city of dust
Covering both of us
Did you hide yourself away?

I can't see you anymore
Did you eclipse another day?
I used to wake up to the color of your soul
Did you hide yourself away?

Are you living through the ghost?
Did you finally find a place
Above the shadows so the world will never know?
The world will never know you like I do
So many silent sorrows

You never hear from again
And now that you've lost tomorrow
Is yesterday still a friend?
All the bridges we built were burned

Not a single lesson was learned
Everything that mattered is just
A city of dust…
