Our new kitten Meadow has now decided she is a squirrel.   She is up and down all the tree's in the backyard.   Yesterday a squirrel was barking at her while she was on the ground.  Next thing you know, she is half way up the tree heading towards the squirrel.

The squirrels are a lot quicker than she is, so I think they are pretty safe.

After all the work climbing and playing with the squirrels she was now ready to take a little nap.

We had a great harvest of raspberries and now the blackberries are starting to ripen.  I have tried a couple and they were both pretty sour.  This is the second year for blackberries.  I went out and picked a bowl tonight and will see if they sweeten up.

Several suckers have shot up this year and are over six feet tall.  They won't produce berries until next year.

New Project

When we were in Wichita for the fourth of July, I picked up an old treddle sewing machine.  It was missing the sewing machine and two drawers.  The top was pretty well shot as well.

I took the top off and the drawers.  Once all the wood was removed I took the stand to the car wash and cleaned it up.  Once washed it look pretty good.  I plan on painting the stand black with some white highlights.

I cut a new top and got the drawers re-attached.   I put it back together to see how it would look.  Now I need to put trim on the top and then stain.

I will keep you posted with updates.

On Monday I was walking through the park on my way to work and came across this field of wild flowers growing.  Really they are weeds, but it was so nice I had to take a picture.  Unfortunately, the picture doesn't really capture the beauty seen by being there.  I am lucky to be in such a great place and being close enough to work that I can walk.

I have had my Chevy Avalanche since 2008.  On the way home from work yesterday I turned 100K miles and had to pull over and take a picture of the odometer.

Hopefully, I can get another 100K out of this one.  Still looks and runs great.
