Happy Easter

I hope that you all had a happy Easter!  I was up early this morning and headed out and got coffee and breakfast burritos.   Then I sprayed off the patio and helped Candy in the kitchen with things that we need to get prepared for Easter dinner.

Took the weedeater to the rock wall in the back yard, cleaned out all the dead grass and dead plants from last year.  Re-stacked  the firewood on the side of the house and then raked up all the leaves and pine needles.  Clark came out and bagged it all up for me.

We ate at 2 PM sharp, both the boys were here we had ham and all the fixings mama did a great job!

Hood is done

So the hood is done for now.  It still needs a little alignment but I'll let the body guy worry about that.  He's going to have to pull it off again anyway to paint.

Work

I ran by the shop on my way home this evening from work.   I am just about ready to primer the hood and wanted to get a few pictures before I did.

Thanks for the update

Wednesday evening, April 16, 6:40 PM. I am looking outside and it's snowing. Not really sticking to the streets yet. It's Colorado so I shouldn't really be surprised.

It was a beautiful morning so I got my ass up and walk to work today.  I guess I should've checked the weather reports because I didn't know we were expecting snow.  I packed up at the office about 5 PM, Candy came and picked me up. It wasn't snowing yet but it was raining pretty good.

I worked over at the shop this last Sunday. Pulled the hood off yet again, put it up on some sawhorses and used aircraft paint stripper to strip the paint off.  Worked  great, got all the paint off the underneath and top of the hood.   I took the grinder with a wire brush head and cleaned off any remaining paint and primer. Now I just need to do a little finish sanding and pound out and putty up a few small dents that have. Then I will prime it and put it back on the car.

My next project is to do the same with the door jams.   Since my paint guy won't be ready for another month or two, at least I can get all that I can get done before hand.

So let's see I spent all of last week in Austin Texas. It was definitely springtime in Texas , the ditches were full of blooming wildflowers and the temperatures were in the high 70s.

For the next couple of weeks I have several trips planned. Going to be spending some time on the road.

So this entire blog post has been dictated.  I did it on my phone using notes and the microphone. Pretty cool!

Sunday night blues

Got out and did a quick hike this morning, felt good to get out.   I left the house around 7AM and only came across one other person on the trail today.   Ended up doing 4.8 Miles.  When I got home I loaded up Mable and took her over to the dog park.   They have put in a new dog obstacle course and who would have guessed that Mable was a natural.   Candy had taken her yesterday and was telling me what Mable could do so I had to see it.  She manged the see-saw, bridge and the up/down wall.

I headed over to the shop for a couple of hours and tinkered around.   Then we headed out to the Movie.  We saw Noah, interesting story line.

Play Time

Wow, it has been two weeks since I stopped to put anything down in the blog.  Just busy, lots of projects
and not enough time.  I have to make a business trip next week so I spent most of the day working on the Ranchero.  Last weekend I hung the front bumper and found that I was missing the outer mounting brackets. I found a set on ebay and bought them.  They arrived on Thursday and I worked that night and got everything bolted up.

Last week I had a guy come over and help me pull the windshield and rear window.   Actually he did all the work.

Today I pulled the bumper, splash guard and grill.    I collected all the window trim and the grill pieces and sent them off to the polisher.   I am scared that something may happen to my trim parts.  I shouldn't be, but I will never be able to replace them, if something gets lost or bent up.  After I got everything pulled from the front end, I sand blasted the bumper brackets and painted them all black.   Also spent a good portion of time today adding rubber gaskets in holes where wires run through.   Don't want them rubbing and shorting out.
