This month has just been so busy that I haven’t been able to get my miles in like I need to. Had co-workers in from NJ and NY plus several client meetings. For this month I am only up to 40/miles and am coming up short by about 60. I will be traveling next week so that is not going to help.
I did manage to get Palmer Loop Trail, Mt. Cutler and a few trips back & forth to work in. On Sunday, Candy I walked from the house to Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby. Took an empty backpack with me so I could carry back the groceries. Turned out to be about 7/miles round trip and had a great time. Find you don’t overspend when you have to carry it 3/miles.

Taking the family with me
Here is a nice pic from the falls on GCR by the closed tunnel. In these pictures are Candy Robinson and Angela Montini. The picture of Angela is from Mt. Cutler.

Memorial Day Weekend 2009
Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone. We have had lot’s of rain over the last few days and has made getting out difficult unless you head out early AM. My sister was in town and on Sunday morning we were able to go up and do Mt. Cutler. This is a great little hike for newbie’s and out of Towner’s. I think she had a great time as the views are spectacular.
On Monday morning the wife and I headed up Gold Camp Road (GCR) to a trail that I had seen but not done. Well what I learned was that this trail actually runs from the Mt. Cutler Trail over to GCR or vice versa depending on how you want to go.
This month has not been great on getting distance in but I am still over from what I had done last year at this time. Heading out of town for a few days and hope to be able to keep the miles up.
Pics below of the two trips we made this last weekend.

Mt. Cutler & Mt. Muscoco
I had loaded up the backpack last night with big ambitions of doing a big hike today. The weather report called for snow and I was packed for it. Well I got up and 6am and looked outside, no snow. So I hopped in the hot tub for a while and then answered email till about 8am. The wife and one of the kids got out of bed so I made egg McMuffins for everyone.
The wife is trying to catch up with school and she needed to study and have some quite time. So about 9:15 I put on my hiking gear and headed out. Since is started so late I wasn’t sure where to go. I headed up Cheyenne Blvd, towards Helen Hunt Falls. On the way I up I saw the Mt. Cutler trail head and had never done it as it is only 2/miles round trip. So today was the day. In the parking lot I was talking to another hiker and he mentioned that there was a side trail that would take you up to Mt. Muscoco and would add a few extra miles to the hike.
So I headed out and ended up getting just a little over 5/miles in today. I managed to to get to the top of both peaks and back. I shot a few photos of a guy doing some ice climbing across the canyon. I don’t know how he got there but need to see if I can find the trail.
