It has been an awesome weekend. On Saturday we went out and played some Frisbee golf. We only played 14 holes, but had a blast. It was just Candy and I and we drug Pebbles along with us. As always she had a great time. We grabbed a late lunch and then headed home.
This morning I woke to the smell of bacon. Candy cooked up some bacon and eggs for breakfast. That was a nice surprise.
After breakfast I headed over to the shop and detailed my truck and got it all cleaned up from my camping trip. I washed, vacuumed and wiped down the seats, doors and dash. It looks great.
We spent the rest of the day working in the back yard. I think we filled 7 contractor size trash bags. We cleaned up all the leafs, mowed and did some cutting back of the summer flowers. Candy got all the flower pots cleaned up. Unfortunately this will be the first of several times that we will need to pick up leafs.
I dug my clothes out for tomorrow, so should be all set to walk to work.

Kitty, Kitty
I am not sure how it happen or what came over us, but we now have a cat into the mix of our already crazy animal circus. His name is Brooks and he came from the humane society. Brooks is two years old. We have had him a week now. He spends most of his time in the basement to keep away from the dogs.
Today was the first day that we have taken him outside. We had to keep the dogs in the house as I am sure that Pebbles would have chased him all over the yard.
We have mice outside. This comes from having bird feeders. The birds knock a bunch of feed on the ground and then mice show up to eat. I am sure that Brooks will catch a few.
First thing he did when getting out in the yard he rolled in the dirt. He did this several times. Guessing he was trying to get the pound smell off of him.

In the woods
Oh man the last few days have been a blast for me. I actually did take some time off and went camping. I left the house on Thursday around noon and headed up to Leadville. I found a camping spot, which wasn't hard as there was no one around. The camping area said it was closed. What that means is that none of the utilities were working and that the trash dumpsters were locked up. So you have to carry out what you carry in.
I found a great place along the creek and just down the road from the lake. Pebbles and I got out and started unloading the truck. We set up the tent first and then blew up the air mattress and got the sleeping bags out.
Once the tent and sleeping area was all setup I moved to getting out my chair and fishing equipment. Pebbles and I walked the stream and I fished along the way. Didn't catch anything but we had fun.
After all this work it was time for a beer. I sat my chair up in the sun and kicked back and just listened the birds. A little later I dug out some fire wood and got a fire going. As the sun was going down it was starting to get cold quick.
Once we had the fire going I started wrapping some potato's in tin foil. Once I had some coals from the fire I dropped the potato's into the coals to cook. I dug out my skillet and cooked up a couple of pork chops to go along.
After dinner I cleaned up and finished off my third beer. It was cold so moved into the tent. Pebbles was snuggled up with me and I watched a movie on my iPad. Fell asleep shortly after starting the moving.
The weather was great. It was in the mid 50's both days. The morning was a different story. When I got up on Friday and checked the temperature it was 32.
The following are some more pictures that I took.

Burgers
For a Monday it was a decent day. I didn't walk but worked out this evening on the floor. So I did do something.
Candy made up some hamburger patties and we threw them on the grill. It was quick and easy, had some lettuce and sliced a tomato. Had some chips and a glass of tea to go along. Good stuff.
I have been toying with the idea of going camping at the end of the week. I just don't know if I can take the time. Plus I need to move my ass and get my shit together. I was thinking about going Thursday morning and go up towards Leadville. We will see but I am running out of time.

Let the games begin
Oh boy, the Presidential debate is about to begin. I swear you can't make this stuff up. It is like an mid-morning soap opera.
Just before 1 PM, I headed up north to go visit my uncle. It's about a 20 minute drive. Thought maybe we would get out to a movie but he wasn't up for it. He got a new iPad that he is trying to learn. It was just to bad we couldn't get him connected to the network. We just need the password, but no one on-site new it. Will see if I can get it for him this week.
Well we have a new edition to our home. We ended up with a cat this weekend. Yes long story, but what are you going to do. It hasn't melded with the dogs yet. We have named him Brooks. He is about two years old and is a short haired. He is spending most of his time in the basement, which works well for everyone. I am sure that at some point we will have a round and round with Pebbles and Brooks. It has to happen so that we can all then get along.

52
Had a great time Friday evening. Candy, the boys and I all got together and hung out for the evening. It was nice having all of us together and gave us a chance to hear what is going on with them. We started at a small micro brew and had a couple of beers. Then we ended up downtown and had dinner together. It was a very nice evening.
This morning I worked on turning off the sprinkler system. Turned off the water and then attached the air hose and blew out each of the zones. So I guess I can say we are winterized.
Once I finished up with the sprinklers I had to run out to the airport. A friend of mine was returning from a trip and needed a ride home. His flight was on time and so was I saw I didn't have to wait.

BCP
Candy and I headed over to BCP to get some walking in. I didn't walk to work today, so I had to get out this evening. We took Pebbles with us and she was able to be off the leash for most of our walk. We got 3 miles in and had some decent elevation gain.
As always Pebbles had a blast and was bouncing all over. She came across a couple of dear. She doesn't' bark but she will gives a little whine. Grass Hoppers drive her nuts as she tries to catch them.
I snapped a picture of a black billed magpie that we came across. I need to investigate a new pocket camera because my cell phone just doesn't cut it.

Trail Mix
Clarks Birthday
I find it hard believe that my youngest son just celebrated his 22nd Birthday. Wow hard to believe, where did the time go. We went out to a restaurant and had a few beers. I am pretty sure we all had a good time.
We ended up shooting off a bunch of fireworks over at the shop. Luckily we didn't catch anything on fire. Would have been tough as it was lightly raining while we were lighting them off.
Happy Birthday Clark! We love you!

Steampunk
Candy embroidered me up a new sweat shirt this weekend. It goes with my hat. Man I am lucky. I have picked out a couple of other steampunk patterns and if I can will have her add them as well.

Sanibel Island
A few weeks back Candy and I had the chance to be in Sanibel island for a few days. We had a great time and found some really nice shells. I was fighting a sinus infection but still managed to have a great time.
We road out bikes most days when we went out to eat or to shell on other beaches. We ate at the condo several nights. We would grab something to throw on the grill and fix and easy side. This gave me some more time to do some fishing.
This trip I spent a lot of time digging for shells. Basically you are out in the water and running your had along the sea floor. when feel something sticking up just dig and most likely it is a shell. A lot of them have visitors living in them so you leave them. In several places every handful I would pull up nice shells. I cant believe there a so many. Every time we go it is a different shelling experience. This trip we mainly found tulips and lighting whelks.
I had pretty decent luck fishing this trip. I caught a 3ft shark and that was pretty exciting. I got it up to the dock and ended up cutting the line. You can be sure I wasn't going to stick my hand in it's mouth. I also caught four catfish, and four other fish. Had a great time just kicking back and fishing.
I had taken my two 1970's fishing machines with me and I caught fish on both of them. I was using shrimp and pin fish for bait. I caught the bigger fish using the small pin fish as bait.

Katydid
I was outside of my office on Friday and happened to look over on the wall and found this Katydid. It has been a while since I have seen one.
